Silent Cement Hopper - April 26, 2003

by Todd Brown

If you are a fan of cement hoppers and/or friction bearing trucks, you're in luck. And if you are a Soo Line fan and are in the Fond du Lac area, you are in even more luck. For the past several months a SOO cement hopper has been withstanding the test of time at the Purina Mills feed mill on Hickory Street. Apparently used for storage, the cement hopper with friction bearing trucks was coupled to a 54' PS Soo Line covered hopper with wheat stalk. The cement hopper had the original SOO reporting marks covered with WC marks. However, the PS hopper still retained it's original SOO reporting marks.
