Soo Line and Wisconsin Central 1950s-era Fond du Lac
"$-Sign" 40-foot steel boxcars

In 1949 the Soo Line and Wisconsin Central began building the first of a large number of 40' steel boxcars at their North Fond du Lac, Wis. shops. The 1949 cars and earlier 1951 cars were the last new boxcars painted with the familiar Soo Line "$-sign" logo. During the production of the 1951 series, the first billboard "SOO LINE" cars appeared. Our models represent the earlier scheme. Three numbered cars are available. "3-packs" of unnumbered cars are also available with decal lettering and information needed to apply any appropriate numbers representing 1951-series cars.
