September 17-19, 2009 Alexandria, Minnesota

This will be the first time that our National Convention will be held in the west end of the Soo Line System, west of the Twin Cities. Alexandria is 128.3 Soo Line mainline miles northwest from the MiIwaukee Road Depot in downtown Minneapolis, and Alexandria is 16 miles north of Glenwood where the Soo Line splits to Portal, ND and Noyes, MN before entering Canada. Alexandria is right on Interstate 94, but if you take highway 55 out of the Twin Cities you will parallel the Soo Line mainline to Glenwood. Confenence room rates at the Alexandria Holiday Inn will be $89.95 per night plus 11% in taxes. The Alexandria Holiday Inn is now taking room reservations for the 2009 SLH&TS Convention. Call (320) 763-6577 and be sure that you mention that you are with the Soo Line Historical & Technical Society there for the convention. There are a limited number of rooms reserved for our group.

HELP NEEDED: people to help with registration, manning the contest room, etc. Be a part of the convention committee. Remember that a convention will be only as good as the people that get involved. Any and all recommendations and suggestions are welcome.
